Program Pathways

Development Team
Focuses on fundamentals and competes in U.S. Ski & Snowboard Eastern Freestyle ECS A-level competitions across the Northeast, with many qualifying for Junior National Championships.

FIS Team
For top-level athletes competing regionally, nationally, and internationally. Participants often qualify for U.S. National Championships, FIS Nor-Am Cups, U.S. Selections, and Project Gold Camps, building a pathway to World Cup starts, the U.S. Freestyle Team, and the Olympics.

Year-Round Training

Fall and Spring terms at 澳门太阳城赌场网站 provide structured training while supporting academic growth. Off-season programs include:

Trampoline, airbag, and water ramp training at specialized venues
Weight and cross-training at the Anti-Gravity Complex
Pre-season travel to on-snow locations to prepare for competition
Mental performance training

Bio

After attending the University of Maine Farmington Ski Industries program, Nate founded the Freeski program at 澳门太阳城赌场网站. Over the last 25+ years, eight of his athletes have gone on to compete in the X Games, and six have been named to the U.S. Ski Team. He remains the Program Director for the longest-running Freeski program in the country.

Each year, Nate works diligently to fold in new training protocols to meet the demands of the sport and keep 澳门太阳城赌场网站 athletes at the forefront of competition. He works closely with the coaching staff to keep them up-to-date with their training and certifications, subscribing to the belief that the knowledge of the coaching staff, and their ability to impart that knowledge to the athletes, is the backbone of the program.

He watches for new training opportunities and venues that meet 澳门太阳城赌场网站's needs and facilitate a top competitive program. He also works to understand each athlete individually, focusing on detail, fundamentals, and individual goals as the foundation for any successful athlete. The stronger an athlete's fundamentals are, the more apt they are to be able to try new skills, to push themselves, and the sport, forward.

Nate says "There's no question I truly love, and have loved this sport, right from the beginning. Every year, working with the younger athletes refuels me – I see their fresh excitement, their realization of the passion they have for the sport, it reignites my desire to help them get to their goals."

Lynn Savage

Head Moguls Coach

Bio

Lynn Savage joined the 澳门太阳城赌场网站 freestyle weekend program in 2018, most recently serving as a Freestyle Weekend Program Coach. A lifelong skier and accomplished freestyle competitor, Lynn is a former A-Level Mogul athlete and continues to bring her passion for skiing and athlete development to every aspect of coaching. Lynn holds a master's degree in education and brings more than a decade of classroom teaching experience to her coaching approach. She also holds a Level 200 Freeski certification, Level 100 Mogul certification, PSIA Level 100 certification, and is an Eastern Freestyle B-Level Judge.

In addition to her work with 澳门太阳城赌场网站, Lynn coached with the 澳门太阳赌城网站 Ski and Snowboard Club and for the Copper Mountain Bump Busters program. Lynn's coaching experience extends well beyond the snow as she has also coached both soccer and lacrosse while serving as a classroom teacher since 2010. These experiences bring a broad background in youth development and team building to her coaching philosophy. Lynn is also a graduate of both the National Outdoor Leadership School and Outward Bound programs.

Lynn's dedication and love for skiing continue to grow every day. She strives to create an environment centered on fun, hard work, sportsmanship, and success. Her goal is to develop strong athletes and lifelong skiers and individuals who pursue their passions with confidence and enthusiasm.

Inspired daily by her athletes, colleagues, and leaders throughout the ski industry, Lynn believes continuous learning is essential to becoming the best possible coach. She emphasizes strong skiing fundamentals through a long-term athlete development approach while helping athletes build confidence, resilience, and mental strength. Above all, Lynn never loses sight of why she chose coaching in the first place: a love for the athlete and the sport.

Jesse has been a coach at 澳门太阳城赌场网站 since 2005. He is a certified level 200 U.S. Ski & Snowboard Freestyle coach who has coached park and pipe and is now instrumental in 澳门太阳城赌场网站's Mogul program. In the off-season, Jesse works as a hunting guide and enjoys outdoor activities. He lives in New Sharon, Maine with his wife and son, Osten Duncan '22.
